The following is a message from Jen Schoener of the Upper Darby Arts and Education Foundation:
I am writing to you to ask your help in spreading the word and finding voices of advocacy.
The Foundation has been asked by Upper Darby Township to give a presentation at the Township Council meeting on Oct. 16th about our goal of having a "Cultural Arts & Education Center" in Barclay Square. The Township needs to understand why this is so important for the community and it needs to hear voices other than ours.
Would you please attend the Wednesday, Oct. 16th Township meeting to speak in support of this project or just to help fill the room in support?
It's time to 'go big or go home.' The Foundation needs a home. We want to stay in Upper Darby. This could be a 'game changer' for our whole community. Media and Lansdowne are investing in the arts to attract people to their towns. We want to offer low cost/free programming to kids who can't afford it but we also want to attract those who can afford it by giving them opportunities that you can't find anywhere else. We want to keep it high quality and also high tech.
We are excited to share our vision on October 16th -- but we want input from the community as well.
We would be tremendously grateful for your help in spreading the word and showing support. We want to keep UD on the map.

My apologies for the last minute nature of this request - we only learned of the Township's wish for a public proposal recently.
